Gas Works Park on a snowy day

ARTIST STATEMENT

I want to recreate William Turner’s industrial world in the modern world. I picked this structure here close to my home town, the gas works park in Seattle. It is an abandoned gas industry, it used to turn coal to gas. The structure is now preserved and turned into a public park. William Turner wanted to picture the beginning of the industrial revolution, whereas I want to picture the ending and how it is now extinct.
